Ministries
Parish Council
The role of Parish Council is to oversee strategic administrative and financial policies and priorities, to provide leadership; and, manage day-by-day operations. The fourteen Parish Council members normally meet on the third Tuesday of the month. The mandate of Christ the King Anglican Church is to effectively reach out into the community to share the Good News of Christ in word and deed; and to offer worship services and prayers within the church family extending into the community. The overall vision of Christ The King Anglican Church is to “Know Christ and Make Hm Known”.
Home Groups
Our parish currently has thirteen home groups with plans to add more when the need arises The composition of the groups is made up of a Saturday morning seniors’ group, an early morning men’s group, a young parents’ group, and others with a general mix of ages. In the coming year, the groups will be studying the Book of Acts to keep in step with Sunday morning preaching. The groups have a prayer focus on the several Christ the King missionaries and church workers locally and abroad. A further goal of the home groups is in outreach projects.
Sunday School
The Sunday School teachers at Christ the King Anglican Church endeavour to help each child develop an individual relationship with our Risen Lord, through prayer and the study of Scripture. The teachers respect different temperaments and learning styles, aiming to keep classes relaxed, fun and understandable for everyone.
The children leave for classes a few minutes after the beginning of the service, which sometimes includes a Children’s Moment, and return to join the congregation for Holy Communion.
Once a month we participate in an Inter*Action service, which is shortened, involving and engaging kids through upbeat music, skits, feats of illusion, stories and sermonettes.
One of our goals at Christ the King Anglican Church, Victoria is to ensure that each person, no matter what age, is honoured as a beloved member of the family of God.
Youth Group
If you look the words “Youth Group” up in the dictionary, it will say “an organization of young people, as for social purposes, usually under the sponsorship of a church, political organization, or the like.”(1) Aimee our youth leader likes to think of it more as a place where young people can come and safely explore Christ while making friends and having fun. The current youth of Christ the King Anglican Church meet with the Victoria Foursquare Church youth group where we come together to increase our numbers. When we meet (usually weekly), the youth have a chance to explore new relationships with each other, the leaders and most importantly with God. It’s a place where it is safe to be who you are, to have the freedom to speak your mind without being judged, to find your direction in life, while you are continually supported in both prayer and presence.

They are represented in communities around the world such as the middle-east, New Zealand , mid-Vancouver Island First Nations and World Vision in Africa. We also have missionaries in China, Columbia, Inter Varsity Christian Fellowship Victoria, Precious Jewels ministry in the Philippines and Uganda.
Social Hour
The Social Hour, after the Sunday morning services, provides an opportunity for parishioners to get together for an informal time to have tea/coffee or juice and often sweet treats and to talk about the service, the sermon, or what they are doing with their lives.
Social Hour develops interaction in the body of Christ that deepen relationships. For a number of our parishioners, it might be the main social time for them in their week, while for others it presents them with the freedom to get to know others that they normally wouldn’t talk to or interact with.
Library
Our small library holds books that are from a Christian perspective and it is our prayer that will lead others to a relationship with Jesus. We have books that are thought provoking, creative, authentic and inspiring from well-known Christian authors. We plan to increase our collection to provide a cross section of books that will meet the needs and desires of the parish.
