2.1 Music Ministry


The Music Director is a paid position, hired by the Selection Committee of the Church (see Screening Personnel Policy). The Music Director is responsible to the Rector and the congregation. The Music Director leads the music to enhance worship, and provides music ministry to the congregation. This includes the following main duties:

  • leading the congregation in music worship,

  • co-ordinating various instrumentalists and singers for choir, praise group, and other ensembles,

  • selecting, ordering and keeping inventory of music,

  • planning, organizing and leading rehearsals,

  • planning worship and other services with the Rector and musicians, and

  • reporting music usage to copyright organizations.

The Music Director is expected to be available for weddings, funerals and other special Parish events.
