Meet Our Clergy and Staff
Rector: Archdeacon Ron Corcoran
Ron Corcoran is delighted to be the first rector of Christ the King Anglican Church – ANiC. He has been ordained since 1987, and has served in the Dioceses of Quebec, Montreal, New Westminster and British Columbia. He is honoured to be a member in the Anglican Network in Canada and is delighted with all that God is doing at Christ the King, and is excited about what the future will hold.
Associate Priest: The Rev. Rodney May
Rodney May is the associate priest at Christ the King Anglican Church – ANiC. Following his calling to heal God’s people while attending UBC, he later was sponsored to attend seminary at the College of Emanuel and St. Chad, Saskatoon. To date he has served in the Dioceses of Yukon, Qu’Appelle, and British Columbia. Through a lengthy discernment process, he left the Anglican Church of Canada in March 2009 and now serves within the Anglican Network in Canada. He has served as both rector and associate priest since 1989, and rejoices with the people of Christ the King at how the Holy Spirit is drawing them and enabling them to become vibrant witnesses of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Honorary Associate Priest: The Rev. Glenn Sim
Glenn Sim is a retired priest of 37 years. He is thrilled and honoured to be an honorary associate at Christ the King Anglican Church and a member of ANiC. Glenn graduated from Wycliffe College and was ordained in Toronto in 1972 and served in three parishes in the Diocese of Toronto. In 1983 he answered the call to become a Military Chaplain and was posted successively to Bases in Calgary; Kingston; Chatham, New Brunswick; and finally Victoria British Columbia, in 1994. Glenn took his release from the military to serve in the Diocese of British Columbia at St. Paul’s Esquimalt and then St. Mary’s Saanichton until 2006 when he retired and joined this parish.
Music Director: Dr. Sheila Sim
Sheila Sim (B. Mus., M.A., Ph. D.) is Director of Music at Christ the King and is extremely thankful for the opportunity to serve God in such a vibrant Christian community. She is pleased that so many members of the parish enjoy singing and playing various instruments and tries to nurture their gifts and abilities. Over the years she has worked in many parishes as organist and choir director. Her most recent church appointments have been at St. Mary’s Saanichton and St Matthias. Sheila also continues teaching music at the University of Victoria in the Faculty of Education, where she has been for the last seventeen years.
