Some Final Thoughts
After attending Diocese of Niagara synods – some years ago now – I used to come away wondering why I was an Anglican. This synod was different: we had 3 days of magnificent worship, fellowship and glorifying God through parish testimonies and reports. It was encouraging to see all the ACNA bishops present and many other visitors from the US and UK; it was encouraging to be with people who are prepared to make sacrifices to stand up for what they believe; it was encouraging to see the consecration of 3 new Canadian Bishops and it was particularly encouraging to hear the Sudanese church representative say “we went to the Anglican Church of Canada first, but we didn’t recognise their theology, so we joined ANiC” – there was a lot of applause after that.
If the Anglican Church has a future in North America, I am convinced it is with the ACNA and it is a privilege to be a part of it.
